Physical Appearance
It is obvious upon first glance that Mahel is a Xaela of the Steppe. She is of petite frame, standing around five feet tall, and noticeably thin. Her hair is long and light gold, tinged with a pale pink; her muted-gold eyes are ringed with white. Her smooth voice is light and lyrical. She carries herself with dignity and grace; her expression is often contemplative.

Mahel stands proudly, but her demeanor is often welcoming and relaxed. She gazes at the world through golden eyes filled with curiosity.

Are you a sellsword or some kind of bodyguard? Do you know the lay of the land? Mahel occasionally has need of meatshields muscle, or tour guides, for various excursions.
On the flip-side of occasionally needing muscle, Mahel is skilled combat healer. Need someone to keep you and your troupe patched up while spelunking? Mahel might be interested in helping out.
Are you a fellow scholar or weaver of magicks? If so, Mahel might wish to speak with you. She has a high aether sense and might detect you out of a crowd.
Are you in the business of ancient relics, scrolls, artifacts, or know where they can be found? These things interest Mahel, and she'd likely find you for more information.
Are you in the mining business, or happen to be a gemseller? Mahel loves gems and jewels and is a hobbyist goldsmith, she may enjoy a conversation with you and possibly buy some gems--but she's very picky over quality.
Foodie! Mahel loves food, though her own cooking skills are dismal. Do you own a spot professing to have some tasty morsels that cannot be resisted? Chances are she would stop by to try them and perhaps leave a review.

This may mean that they are from a clan that was recently destroyed or absorbed. It may mean that they are of a new tribe that was formed by members leaving another. It may mean they are of a tribe that remained hidden in the northern mountains." -- "Race Naming Conventions"

Hidden in a series of intrinsic caverns in the northern mountains of the Azim Steppe, an ancient tribe survives, thrives--decides fates, concealed from peering eyes.

The Sudet have survived for over 2000 years in the northern mountains of the Azim Steppe, in a series of caverns and tunnels, hidden and warded off by powerful magicks.

They are extremely reclusive and secretive, but that does not mean they do not engage in steppe politics. However, to remain as if a myth among outsiders, they do so covertly, often assuming the clan-names and identities of other clans in order to remain unknown.

The Sudet do engage in trade at Reunion, again, often under the guise of other clans.

Their diet mainly consists of cavernous flora (roots, mushrooms, mosses), and insects

The Sudet shy away from light. Having spent centuries in dimly lit caverns and tunnels, their eyes are unable to handle direct sunlight well, and they are often pale in coloration.

The Sudet are exceptionally aetherically powerful, having been bred for generations to increase in these capacities with each generation designed to be stronger than the last.

This is a surface-level glance at the Sudet. Their complex set of rituals, beliefs, clan history, and inner-clan politics may be explored through interactions with Mahel.
